General Information
Wydan University of the Magical Arts is an original character university game set in the Harry Potter universe, with its main aim to be a game where characters can ‘continue their magical education in a tertiary environment’. There are many games out on the Internet which allow students to role-play original characters at Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, or one of many fictional schools in other countries, there are very few university themed games, meaning that once characters age beyond seventh year, there is nowhere else for them to go.
Wydan University (and other university games) allow those characters, as well as new ones created solely for the game, to continue to grow and change as they master more advanced types of magic. For those students wishing to become Healers, Wydan’s Healing program allows them to learn the magic required of them, as well as giving them practice before they finally earn their Healer’s robes. For witches and wizards of a more artistic inclination, Wydan’s Arts department offers many different types of majors: for the artists amongst that group, Fine Arts is recommended, while for those who seek the spotlight, Music, Theater or the Performing Arts double major may be the best for that character.
Generally, characters in this game will be of the eighteen to twenty-two age range, with the majority leaning towards the younger half of that age range. These characters will, of course, be students, as professors must be at least twenty-eight years old in order to teach (like with similar situations, student-teacher relations are ICly frowned upon, although this age restriction may or may not prevent such things from occuring). Currently, there is no ‘large plot’ overshadowing the game, no ‘great threat’ that may rear its head at any moment. At present, the main goal is the individual one, the goal of developing your character with the aid of others. The world is a relatively peaceful one, as it takes place in the current year (2007), nearly a decade after the defeat of Voldemort.
